Our Lily is Here!!!!

We are so happy that Lily is here! This will be just a quick update with some photos. Hopefully I will have a chance to post more soon. Lily was born on August 24th, , 2008 at 4:31 pm via c-section after many long hours of labor and pushing the doctor felt a c-section would be best for everyone. She weighed 6lbs 7 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. We are all doing good, we are just trying to all adjust right now.

Dr.'s Appointment - 38 Weeks 5 days

This morning we had our ultrasound, and everything looks really good. We were able to see her breathing and the heartbeat. The technician said that the placenta looked good and the level of amniotic fluid was good too. We were hoping for some good pictures of her, but b/c she is so low down and how she was turned we couldn't really get any profiles. It's a tight squeeze in there! She took Lily's measurements and they come out to about 6 lbs 1 oz, the margin of error for this is about 15% so she could be a pound off either way...although we are more inclined to think she may be more torwards the 7lb range, but we are very pleased with this. Lily slept through the entire ultrasound so she wasn't moving around any. The Dr. decided to do a Non Stress Test to moniter the babies movements and heartrate for about 20 minutes. During this time she did move around and everything looked and sounded good. Also during this time the test showed that I was having braxton hicks contractions, so that was exciting!

My cervix is still high but Dr. Mazzoli was able tell that I haven't dialated any. My blood pressure was 100/60 and I have gained one pound since last week. My stomach measured 37-38cm. I have another appt this Friday for another Non Stress Test and then an appt on Monday with the Dr. As of right now it sounds like I will be scheduled for an induction next Thurday, August 28th, unless I go into labor before then. We will know more definitely on Monday. It is so exciting to think we could be having her in just a little over a week!!! We can't wait to meet her!

Doctor's Appointment - 37 weeks 6 days

My doctor's appt went really good this morning. We saw a different doctor from the same practice today since my regular one is on vacation this week. He said that Lily is about as low down in my pelvis as she can be without me actually having her. He was surprised at how roomy my pelvis seemed and was surprised that she was already as low as she is. While he was examining me he was able to feel about an inch of her head! It seems right now we are just waiting on my cervix to drop lower, it is currently still high up behind her head. My stomach measured 37cm and he seems to think that she is going to be a long baby, w/ her being as low as she is and with my belly still growing. The doctor decided to order an ultrasound for next week so maybe they can get a better idea of how big she is. We are excited about the ultrasound, but we of course would be even more excited if she decided to come before then.

My blood pressure was good...102/60 and I have gained 2 lbs since last week, making my total weight gain so far 25lbs. My next appt is August 20th.

Doctor's Appointment - 36 weeks 5 days

Well it shouldn't be too much longer now.....Our appointment went really good this morning. I haven't gained any weight since last week, but Lily is still growing because my belly measured 36 cm. My blood pressure was 100/60, and Lily's heart rate was 147. 23 days left until my due date...we are still hoping that she comes a little sooner than that, but we'll see. We've also got the car seat installed in the car now, and had it inspected by the fire department....so now we are all ready to bring her home from the hospital! My next appt is August 14th.
