Easter Egg Hunt!!!

Letting Lily find Easter Eggs this year has been so much fun! Last Easter she was too young, but she is at a great age for it this year. She carries her little Easter "Dora" Basket around and gathers up all the eggs, she makes sure she opens up each one of them and then puts it in her basket. I've hid the Easter eggs for several days in a row now, and she has so much fun. She will go over to the bushes and shake them, and looks up in all the trees. We are going up to Waycross this weekend and I am sure she will get alot more practice there too with her cousins who will also be there! Below are so pictures that we took of her. Happy Easter everyone!!!!

Counting and More!

Lily has been a busy little girl since she has turned 18 months old, continuing to surprise her Daddy and myself every single day. On Sunday we were in the car and I was talking to Jim and I mentioned the number 5. Well Lily heard me and then she started counting 5-10. Jim and I just sat there amazed. That was the first time we have heard her do that. We read books to her w/ counting and I have practiced with her focusing on 1-5, but not really at all w/ 5-10. So, Jim and I were quite surprised. Now she is doing it all the time. She is saying alot 4 word sentences like "I see you mama, I see you dada, I see you milk" and so on. She says new things everyday. We can be getting ready to go some where and she will say "let's go." We were in Panera this morning and she handed me her spoon and I said, thank you Lily, and then she said "your welcome mama." We just never know what she will do or say next. She will ask us to unlock the doors. For awhile now she has been referring to herself as Lily. We love the way she says her name. Sooooo cute!!!! If we are doing something for her and she wants to do it for herself she will say "Lily" and point to herself. Well I could go on and on, but I will post a few pics from the last couple of weeks! :)

Where'd my pants go Mama!!!

Playing with her Dora kitchen that I got a good deal on at the Community Garage Sale this past weekend!

What a little stinker!

Always on the move!!

Chillin' in her comfy chair!

18 Month Checkup!!!!

Lily had her 18 month check up today. She now weighs 23lbs 4oz (25th percentile) and is 32 inches tall (50th percentile). She is really growing. She did great, she enjoyed talking to the nurses and doctor. She did have to get 3 shots so she cried a little during that time, but it was over quickly and then she was happy. The doctor did say she was at least a year ahead with her language skills since at this age they would only expect them to speak 5-10 words and she says 200+ and forms sentences. He said to definitely keep doing what we are doing. :)

Lily's First Artwork and Red Velvet Cake

They have art time every Thursday at the library nearby. I met one of my friends there that also has a little girl just a few months older than Lily. We had fun watching all the kids in their little aprons painting with feathers. That was the project for last week. Below is Lily's masterpiece as well as how she looked when we were all done. I also including a picture of a piece of the homemade Red Velvet Cake and icing that I made for Jim while he was gone to Miami for a web conference. He was very surprised as I knew he would be and the cake was wonderful. I've never tried making one before b/c it's not my favorite cake, but Jim loves them so I thought I would give it a try. Glad I did because it even won me over. The best part was the vanilla buttercream icing I made. Yummmm!!! I will be making that again for sure!

Lily after her paint session!

Lily's beautiful artwork, which we now have proudly hanging up in the kitchen!!!

Lily is 18 Months Old Today!!!!!!!!

Today is an exciting day it's Lily's 1 1/2 year Birthday!!!! I just cannot describe how absolutely precious and sweet this child is. She will steal your heart!!!! She continues to amaze us with everything she understands and does. She has a wonderful vocabulary and regularly says 3 word sentences. She is very outgoing. She doesn't meet a stranger and talks to everyone. When we are out and about she always tells people Hey and Bye. She is just an amazing joy. She loves the outdoors so I have a feeling we will probably be spending alot time in the backyard, parks, and the beach this year! Each day is an exciting day when you have a little one around....you never know what will happen!!! She keeps us on our toes! We love you baby!!! Oh, and Daddy has been away this week, he will be back tomorrow. Lily and I have been having wonderful girl time, so much fun! But we miss Daddy and will be glad to see him. Lily leaves things for him at his office door. I show her isn't in there, but she still does it. She loves her Daddy!!! I was going to also post a video that I took of her today playing but it was taking too long to upload, I will try it again later.

Valentine's Day and More!

Oops! I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have made a post. I am falling behind. We have been staying so busy, and I keep thinking I need to update the blog and I'm just now getting around to it. Last Sunday was Valentine's Day (Lily's 2nd) and it was a fun weekend. Our good friends Lisa and Matt came for a visit and spent the weekend with us. It was so good to see them. I can't believe it was actually cold in Florida while they were here, so we didn't do much outdoors this visit, but we did drive over to the beach and got out to take a quick picture and Jim and Matt went to a car show while Lisa and I hung out at the house and talked for hours while Lily took one of her 4 hr naps!! (thanks Lily) :) and then later that evening Lisa and I went out while the boys (and Lily) stayed home. We had a fun time catching up. On Sunday Lily got to open up her Valentine's card and her Valentines pajamas that we had gotten her. We also went over to see April and the boys. Grammy was visiting w/ them so we were able to see her too! Then on Tuesday Mom spent the night w/ us and Jim and I went out for a post Valentine's Day dinner, and now February is almost over. It's been a quick month! Below are some pics from one of Lily's many playdates and from Valentine's Day!

Alexander climbed into the diaper box and Lily thought it looked like fun so she joined him!

Lily opening up her Valentines gifts!

She loved her Dora card and Dora stickers. She is still playing w/ them now almost a week later!

As you may have guessed I picked out the Valentine panda pjs and Jim picked out the cute I love Daddy pjs.

Went to the park to play some ball and to play on the slide the afternoon of Valentine's Day! While there we ended up running into several of her little buddies from playgroup! (I love, love, love our community!!!)

Stride Rite Fan Photo of the Week

On facebook I am a fan of Stride Rite, because I really like their shoes for Lily. Last week I saw where you could submit a photo to there wall to enter it in the photo of week contest that they do each week. They pick the winner each Wednesday. I had forgotten all about it until I saw where they announced the winner today and it was the photo I submitted of Lily!!!! So it made my day! =) They will use her picture as their profile picture for the week. Here is the photo that they posted on their page! Yay Lily!!!!! Who can resist a sweet little panda bear?? Not me and apparently not them either. :)

17 Months Old!!!!

Our sweet little girl was 17 months old on Sunday. We walked down to the park in the afternoon and Jim took a few pics of her playing on the playground. She had a great time! She loves being outside and she loves the park!

Spaghetti Night!!!!

As you can see from the pictures Lily very much enjoyed her spaghetti, cleaned her bowl. Which makes me happy. Back a few months ago she went through a kind of pickier stage which worried me, because I didn't know if it would be sticking around or not. I have always tried to give her as much diversity as I could with her foods, to make she was introduced to all different things which has gone really well for us. Then she went through the pickier stage where she was wanting to eat the same things over and over. She seems to be getting over this now as I have still been persistent at getting her to try other foods. She especially likes it when I give her the spoon and let her feed herself. She is getting the hang of it. For now I usually dip the spoon in her food and then give it to her, sometimes I let her do it....soon I will let her do it all herself, but for now this works best for us and makes clean up alot easier! But anyway she enjoyed her spaghetti so much, but who can blame her with her Daddy's super, yummy homemade marinara sauce! It was delicious!! Enjoy! :)

She has so much fun w/ me taking pics...she kept saying "again, again!"

She decided to put a little in her hair!

Smiling for the camera!

Super Fun Bathtime!!!

Miss Lily loves bathtime! All you have to say is Dora bathtime and she is ready to run up the stairs to her bathroom. It is so cute watching her in the bath tub, she isn't nor has she ever been afraid of the water. When Jim washes her hair Lily likes it when the water just pours all down her face, in fact she likes it when you just splash her face w/ water...she will say "again, again." I think we are going to have a great time at the beach and pools this summer! We took some video the other night which I hope to put on here sometime soon. But here a couple of pics below that I took one evening.
