I just felt like dressing Lily up and doing an outdoor photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. :) Here are a few pics from it.

Counting and More!
Lily has been a busy little girl since she has turned 18 months old, continuing to surprise her Daddy and myself every single day. On Sunday we were in the car and I was talking to Jim and I mentioned the number 5. Well Lily heard me and then she started counting 5-10. Jim and I just sat there amazed. That was the first time we have heard her do that. We read books to her w/ counting and I have practiced with her focusing on 1-5, but not really at all w/ 5-10. So, Jim and I were quite surprised. Now she is doing it all the time. She is saying alot 4 word sentences like "I see you mama, I see you dada, I see you milk" and so on. She says new things everyday. We can be getting ready to go some where and she will say "let's go." We were in Panera this morning and she handed me her spoon and I said, thank you Lily, and then she said "your welcome mama." We just never know what she will do or say next. She will ask us to unlock the doors. For awhile now she has been referring to herself as Lily. We love the way she says her name. Sooooo cute!!!! If we are doing something for her and she wants to do it for herself she will say "Lily" and point to herself. Well I could go on and on, but I will post a few pics from the last couple of weeks! :)

18 Month Checkup!!!!
Lily had her 18 month check up today. She now weighs 23lbs 4oz (25th percentile) and is 32 inches tall (50th percentile). She is really growing. She did great, she enjoyed talking to the nurses and doctor. She did have to get 3 shots so she cried a little during that time, but it was over quickly and then she was happy. The doctor did say she was at least a year ahead with her language skills since at this age they would only expect them to speak 5-10 words and she says 200+ and forms sentences. He said to definitely keep doing what we are doing. :)

Lily's First Artwork and Red Velvet Cake
They have art time every Thursday at the library nearby. I met one of my friends there that also has a little girl just a few months older than Lily. We had fun watching all the kids in their little aprons painting with feathers. That was the project for last week. Below is Lily's masterpiece as well as how she looked when we were all done. I also including a picture of a piece of the homemade Red Velvet Cake and icing that I made for Jim while he was gone to Miami for a web conference. He was very surprised as I knew he would be and the cake was wonderful. I've never tried making one before b/c it's not my favorite cake, but Jim loves them so I thought I would give it a try. Glad I did because it even won me over. The best part was the vanilla buttercream icing I made. Yummmm!!! I will be making that again for sure!
